This is a beauitfully written article about the life of a remarkable self made man. I had the good fortune of meeting him once, and was greatly impressed by his simple, dignified personality. My late father Dr. J.M.Purandare who was in the first batch of G.S.Medical College told this story about the discipline of the Dean: Dr.Jivraj used to take night rounds, and once he caught a wardboy smoking a beedi in the Hospital. Dr. Mehta slapped the offender immediately! I cannot imagine any Hospital authrority diong this today!
