Marked platyspondyly is noted in the lower thoracic and upper lumbar spine. There is mild irregularity to the vertebral plates with eburnation and humping up of the end plates to give an appearance of calcification of the intervertebral disc spaces. There is some increase in the antero-posterior diameter of the vertebrae.
