Effect of lidocaine on the mean peak airway pressure. Percent change in peak airway pressure between pre-ischaemia and post-ischaemic reperfusion (n=6). Control lungs were perfused for a total period of 70 min. Lungs undergoing ischaemia-reperfusion were perfused for 10 minutes which constitute the pre-ischaemia period and then followed by a 60 minutes of ischaemia and 10 minutes of reperfusion. * p< 0.0001 compared to ischaemia-reperfusion lungs; ** p < 0.0001 compared to control group.
