Figure 3: Comparison of in-hospital mortality in patients with NPM or cardiac monotherapy compared to combination therapy with cardiac and NPMs. The highest mortality was seen in patients taking β-blockers and antipsychotics (25.0% vs. 4.8% β-blocker monotherapy vs. 8.6% antipsychotic monotherapy, P = 0.03 P = 0.04, respectively). Additionally, significant increases were seen in all combinations of cardiac medications and antidepressants when compared to both cardiac and NPM monotherapy (all P < 0.05)
